Vanilla Ice. Es un rapero de la década de los 90. De impacto certero en el show musical de la época. Y hasta en la actualidad se recuerda la aparición en aquellos tiempos del rapero blanco más recordado y también más relegado. Luciendo un singular estilo y una aún mas cuestionable calidad musical.

== Síntesis Biográfica ==

Nacido en [[1968]], Vanilla Ice destacó en los tempranos 90, pero su carrera se había iniciado un poco antes con la aparición de su disco Hooked, en [[1989]], que publicó de manera independiente.
En [[1990]] lanza el disco “To The Extreme”, en el cual venía incluido la canción que tantos dividendos le dio y que llego al número 1 en variadas partes del mundo: '''Ice Ice Baby'''. Llegando a la cima como uno de los poquísimos raperos blancos que existían en la época.

Resulta curioso el hecho de que, siendo Vanilla Ice contemporáneo a [[MC Hammer]], los mayores éxitos de ambos resultaron ser singles en los cuales samplearon temas de otros artistas. Mc Hammer tomó “Super Freak” para U Can´t Touch This y Vanilla hizo lo suyo con “Under Pressure” de [[Queen]] para su canción Ice Ice Baby. Estos dos artistas se convirtieron en los íconos del rap comercial de aquellos años.

Sin embargo el sector más radical del rap rechazaba al rapero blanco y muchos músicos lo miraban con reticencia.
En [[1994]] reaparece con el disco Mind Blowin. Para ese tiempo Vanilla Ice ya tenía adicción a las drogas duras y su imagen había cambiado radicalmente, con una apariencia gangsteril y de junkie. Mientras confesaba que su imagen más glam y su sonido más comercial de antaño había sido impuesto por su sello discográfico bajo presión. El disco, como suele suceder con estas figuras, no repitió el éxito del anterior y la popularidad de Vanilla Ice comenzó a descender igual que las ventas. A
ños después confesó que se trató de suicidar provocándose una sobredosis con un cóctel de heroína, cocaína, éxtasis y lo que tuviese al alcance.
Una década después Robert Van Winkle reaparece para el público y en [[2005]] lanza Platinum Underground, con material nuevo y remezclas. Y claramente con un perfil mucho más bajo y comenzando casi de cero.
Vanilla durante su trayectoria sembró muchas diferencias en el mundo del rap, sin embargo se hizo un nombre.

También participó en algunos films, debutando en 1991 en la segunda parte de [[Las Tortugas Ninjas]]. En el [[2012]] participó en la película [[That's My Boy]] con [[Adam Sandler]].
