Vanessa Lynn Williams. Es una actriz, cantante y modelo norteamericana, ganadora en 1984 del concurso Miss America, siendo la primera mujer negra en conseguir ese premio. Incursionó con éxito en el cine, la música, el teatro y la televisión.

Inicios

Nació el 18 de marzo de 1963, en Millwood, Nueva York, Estados Unidos. Estudió piano pero estaba más interesada en el canto. Asistió a la Universidad de Siracusa en artes teatrales pero no terminó la carrera. Empezó a competir en concursos de belleza hasta que ganó Miss Nueva York en 1983 y por ello asistió a Miss America en Atlantic City donde coronada el 17 de septiembre de 1983.

Su talento y fama como moedelo la llevaron a desarrollar una destacada carrera como cantante y actriz.
