==Condados Ceremoniales==
El máximo jefe en estas porciones del territorio es un Lord-Lieutenant, el cual se encarga de cumplir como [[líder]] administrativo de la [[región]], en total en este país hay 47 condados. 
Estos condados fueron establecidos así desde comienzos del [[siglo]] pasado y son conocidos como Condados Ceremoniales, dentro de los cuales se suele diferenciar entre metropolitano y no metropolitano, la última gran reforma se hizo en [[1965]] estableció el distrito conocido como el Gran Londres y modificó a algunos condados que perdieron poblados porque estos fueron absorbidos por el crecimiento de la capital. 
Según algunos historiadores la división política por condados comenzó en el siglo [[XII]], pero a estos condados a esta división administrativa se le conoce como histórica, pero solo hasta [[1990]] se les comenzó a denominar como condados ceremoniales. 
[[Yorkshire]] es el condado más grande [[Inglaterra]], así como también en este territorio están ciudades muy importantes para el [[Reino Unido]] como [[Leeds (Reino Unido)|Leeds]], Sheffield o la misma [[York (Reino Unido)|York]], este territorio tiene 15.000 kilómetros cuadrados y es el más grande de toda Inglaterra. 
Frecuentemente se utilizan como referencia geográfica y así se llaman condados geográficos. Cuarenta y siete son los Condados ceremoniales de Inglaterra. Uno tras otro han legado siglos de [[cultura]], de elegancia, y porte señorial. 
Ciudades de una belleza sobria y serena que parecen estar ancladas, nostálgicamente, en un pasado medieval como Bath, como York, como Canterbury.

==Un poco de Historia==

Estos condados ceremoniales son la base de la mayoría de los mapas producidos durante los primeros años del siglo [[XX]]. 
Aparte de algunas revisiones menores, estas áreas han permanecido estables hasta la creación en [[1965]] del Gran Londres, que acabó con la abolición del condado de Middlesex. Sin embargo, la creación del condado administrativo de Huntingdon y Peterborough no supuso ningún cambio en las áreas. 
En [[1974]], los distritos de condado fueron abolidos y se realizó una importante reforma en la administración de los condados. 
Tras la reforma de los años [[1990]], Avon, [[Cleveland]], [[Hereford]] y Worcester y Humberside fueron abolidos. Esto llevó a que se volviera a las diferencias entre los condados administrativos, los ceremoniales y los geográficos. 
Avon se dividió entre Gloucestershire y Somerset, mientras que [[Bristol]] ganó el estatus de condado. La división de [[Cleveland]] fue entre North Yorkshire y Durham. Hereford y Worcester, entre Herefordshire y Worcestershire. Humberside se dividió en el nuevo condado ceremonial de East Yorkshire, aunque algunas zonas fueron a Lincolnshire. Rutland recuperó la categoría de condado ceremonial.
