Elliott Gould . Es un actor estadounidense conocido por sus papeles en M.A.S.H. (1970), su actuación nominada al Oscar en Bob, Carol, Ted y Alice (1969), y más recientemente, su interpretación del antiguo estafador Reuben Tishkoff en Ocean's Eleven.
Síntesis biográfica
Nació el 29 de agosto de 1938 en Brooklyn, Nueva York ,con el nombre de Elliott Goldstein en . Es nieto de inmigrantes judíos de Europa Oriental. Su madre, Lucille Raver, vendía flores artificiales en tiendas de souvenirs, y su padre, Bernard Goldstein, trabajaba en el negocio de la ropa (en el Garment District de Manhattan). Se recibió en la Escuela Profesional para Niños. Gould se ha casado tres veces, dos veces con Jennifer Bogart y una vez con Barbra Streisand. Tiene tres hijos.
Carrera
Comenzó su carrera en Hollywood en la década de los 60 y que ha participado en más de 150 proyectos diferentes, habitualmente con papeles secundarios. Especialmente destacable en este sentido es el de Jack Geller, el padre de Ross y Monica, en la serie de éxito Friends. Fue uno de los actores más prolíficos de la década de los 70 en los Estados Unidos, destacando su participación en el filme de Robert Altman MASH (1970), lo que provocaría que después le llegarán interesantes oportunidades.
Entre ellas, destacan especialmente los filmes Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice (1969), que le valió una nominación a los Oscar, A bridge too far (1977) o Capricorn One (1977), entre muchos otros, además de convertirse en un habitual del exitoso programa Saturday Night Live. Tras una larga etapa en los escenarios de Broadway, el actor fue muy criticado por su participación en anuncios y proyectos comerciales, con lo que su éxito descendió en picado. En 1991 recibiría de nuevo la aclamación de la crítica por su papel en Bugsy y su aparición en American History X (1998), donde dio vida al novio de la madre del protagonista, el éxito le llegaría de nuevo con su papel en la serie Friends, a pesar de tratarse de un secundario.
