Luis Guzmán. Actor de cine y televisión estadounidense de origen puertoriqueño, nacido el 28 de agosto de 1956. Su carrera actoral ha estado ampliamente marcada por su interpretación de papeles secundarios de gran relevancia en ambos medios bajo las órdenes de renombrados directores y realizadores.
Primeros años
Luis Guzmán nació 28 de agosto de 1956, en Cayey, Puerto Rico, y creció en la sección del East Village en Manhattan, Nueva York. Tras graduarse en el City College of New York, comenzó a trabajar como trabajador social, especialmente atendiendo a jóvenes e involucrado en su comunidad en el desarrollo de diversos eventos. Esto lo lleva a realizar teatro callejero y a participar en películas independientes.
Carrera
Luis Guzmán ha desarrollado su carrera interpretando personajes secundarios, personificando lo mismo policías, que ladrones o pandilleros. A tenido la suerte, a pesar de eso, de estar bajo las órdenes de renombrados directores como Steven Soderbergh, quien lo seleccionó para algunas películas como Out of Sight (1998), The Limey (1999) y Traffic (2000); Paul Thomas Anderson,con quien apareció en Boogie Nights (1997), Magnolia (1999) y Punch-Drunk Love (2002). Ha participado también en diversas series televisivas a lo largo de su carrera.
