Distribución
Se distribuye desde el este del Himalaya hasta el centro de China[10], donde se le trata como especie protegida.
Características
Es un árbol que alcanza los 30 metros de altura y su tronco 1 metro de diámetro. Tiene una corona cónico-piramidal. Las hojas son lineales de 1-2.5 cm de longitud y 1-1.5 mm de ancho. Las piñas con las semillas son cilíndricas de 6–12 cm de longitud por 3–4 cm de ancho, siendo de color verde-rojo o púrpura-marrón al madurar. Tiene las semillas aladas.
