Slaughter es un grupo de Glam metal formado en 1988 por Mark Slaughter voz, bajista Dana Strum, guitarrista Tim Kelly y el batería Blas Elias.
Sumario
Historia de la banda
En 1988 los miembros de la banda Vinnie Vincent Invassion Mark Slaughter y Dana Strum, forman la banda Slaughter, incluyendo a Tim Kelly como guitarrrista y al batería Blas Elias. El grupo empezó grabando la canción Shout it out para la película Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. La banda alcanzó popularidad en 1990 con su primer álbum, Stick It to Ya', que contenía algunos hits como "Up All Night", "Spend My Life", "Mad About You", y la balada "Fly to the Angels". El álbum alcanzó el estatus de triple platino en los Estados Unidos. Su estilo metal, sus canciones se basan en melodías pegajosas y Mark Slaughter se destaca por la impresionante gama vocal y su falsete algo nasal.
En 1993 el guitarrista Tim Kelly fue arrestado con cargos de tráfico de drogas, mientras que Dana Strum sufrió un accidente con su motocicleta. Mientras Tim Kelly solucionaba sus problemas legales, su reemplazo fue Dave Marshall. El próximo reemplazo volvió a ser el propio Dave Marshall, siendo rápidamente reemplazado por Jeff Blando (anteriormente miembro de Left for Dead y Saigon Kick).
El 5 de febrero de 1998, Kelly murió en un accidente de automóvil. En el 2003 Blas Elias compartió la batería con Bobby Rock en algunos conciertos y momentáneamente fue reemplazado por Tim DiDuro en el 2006.
