Norman F. Ramsey

Norman Foster Ramsey (1915). Nació en Wasshington el 27 de agosto de 1915. Se graduó en Matemática en la Universidad de Columbia. Matrículó en Física en la Universidad de Cambridge. En 1943 fue a Los álamos a trabajar en el Proyecto Manhattan después de la guerra regresa a trabajar como profesor investigador en la Universidad de Columbia. En 1947 se trasladó para la Universidad de Harvard donde enseñó durante 40 años y estableció un laboratorio de haz molecular. Inventó el método del campo oscilatorio separado y su uso en relojes atómicos. Este trabajo le permitió ganar el Premio Nobel de Física en 1989.
