The Voice (Canada)
The Voice Canada is a Canadian talent show produced by W Network. The format consists of choosing among a group of contestants those who stand out for their vocal qualities without their image influencing the jury's decision, composed of well-known artists. The Voice Canada is the Argentine adaptation of the successful Dutch format The Voice, popularized in the world following the American adaptation The Voice that broadcasts the NBC network since April 2011. The program premiered on Monday, June 7, 2011.
History
The Voice format was devised by John de Mol, creator of Big Brother, and will differ from other singing talent shows because only voice potential will be evaluated without giving importance to the physical appearance of the participants.
It is a foreign format, produced in different parts of the world with great success in 2011. The Voice Kids Canada will have a jury of three professionals, who with their backs to the participants will hear them sing. When one of them likes what they hear, the famous jury in question will press a button and his chair will turn, thus making him the "godfather" of that contestant.
The novelty of this show is in the dynamics of the program. Unlike other singing competitions, this version added an ingredient: the members of the jury, which will be four, remain turned during the performance of the participants. Thus, only from the voice, each judge will select which participants he wants for his team.
In this way, the contest will be subdivided into different phases: the instance of the “blind” song, the selection and the duel between teams with shows prepared for the special galas and the live presentation.
Format
The Voice Kids Canada consists of choosing from among a group of contestants of different ages, those who stand out for their vocal qualities, without their image influencing the jury's decision, composed of well-known artists who subsequently direct their artistic training. The objective of this format is to find the best voted voice in the country, that is, in Canada. However, and likewise, they can participate.
STAGE 1: BLIND AUDITIONS
Each season begins with the Blind Auditions, where coaches form their teams, which will train and guide throughout the competition. The judges' chairs are on their backs and facing the public during the performance of each applicant; those interested in an artist, press the button that is located on the chair, with which they turn, facing the artist, at the same time that the lower part of it is illuminated, where the legend "I want you ". After the presentation is finished, the artist enters directly to the coach team that was interested, or in case more than one coach has been interested, he decides which team he will enter through the arguments or criteria that each of them offers him to guide him based on his musical benefit of the season.
STAGE 2: THE BATTLES
In the Battles, each coach groups the members of his team in pairs, so that they face each other in a ring and sing the same song thus showing their best vocal and artistic skills. At the end of each presentation, only one of them advances to the next round. In each season, each coach receives the help of invited mentors, who help him advise his participants to show off and perform a good performance, contributing his point of view to make the best decision in the team.
STAGE 3: THE KNOCKOUTS
During this round, a couple of artists from the same team are selected to perform at the same time. Each artist has the possibility to choose their own song, and they also receive the help and advice of their coaches and a special guest. At the end of both presentations, each coach selects one of them to advance to the next round. However, at this stage each coach receives the opportunity of the "Steal", 2 in total, which allow them to save and incorporate into their teams contestants eliminated by other coaches during this round.
STEGA 4: THE PLAYOFFS
In the Playoffs, participants participate individually in team rounds to once again demonstrate their talent; and where each coach must save 2 participants (of the 8 in total), while the others will go to the telephone vote, SMS and / or digital platform, so that the public in this way save 2 more. In this dynamic, the coach is left with 4 participants.
STAGE 5: LIVE SHOWS
In this phase, each participant is presented individually and 100% live before the public, performing a consecutive musical performance in order to obtain the highest number of votes from it. Also, in the semifinal and grand final, not only solo songs will be presented, but each finalist will perform a duet with his coach. The word and final decision will be made by the public, which will devote one of the four finalists like The Voice Kids Canada.
