Síntesis biográfica
Nace el 9 de enero de 1961 en la ciudad de Liverpool, en Inglaterra. Hijo de France Dean y Tom Womack, estudió el nivel secundario en Childwall, Liverpool; continuando sus estudios en la Real Academia de Arte Dramático (RADA) de Londres.
Trayectoria artística
Su carrera como actor profesional comenzó a fines de la década del '80 y durante los 10 años siguientes trabajó en roles menores, en numerosas series televisivas, hasta que, en 1998, obtuvo su primer protagónico interpretando a Mark Callaghan en la serie "Liverpool 1" en la que conoció a su futura esposa Samantha, co-protagonista de la serie.
Womack es también reconocido por sus interpretaciones en distintas series televisivas británicas como en el rol de Callard en "Murphy's Law", Jack en "Sorted" y Eamonn Doherty en "The Runaway".
Su primer largometraje data de 1990, cuando integró el elenco de la comedia "Bailando en la oscuridad"; pasarían seis años hasta que volviera a la gran pantalla con "Letters from the East" (1996), un drama de misterio que protagonizó junto a Ewa Fröling. Un año más tarde tuvo un rol de soporte en el drama "A flor de piel" (1997), ganador de varios premios internacionales.
Más recientemente fue protagonista junto a John Bishop, del drama "Route Irish" (2010); y del thriller "I against I" (2011), en el que estuvo acompañado por Kenny Doughty y Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson.
