Cursó sus estudios en la Dwight-Englewood School, y luego se pasó a una secundaria pública en Tenafly, New Jersey. Posteriormente se graduó de la University of Southern California.

Comenzó a su carrera a mediados de los 80´s participando en películas como “Click, Click”, con Demi Moore y Jon Cryer, “S.O.S. Equipo azul”, junto a Lea Thompson y Joaquin Phoenix y pequeños papeles en series como “Family Ties” y “Hill Street Blues”.
