Esta canción fue escrita e interpretada por Michael Jackson y producida por Quincy Jones (con coproducción de Michael Jackson).
En el video clip se comienza en un comedor / sala de billar, donde dos hombres caminan afuera y luego los miembros de dos bandas en guerra se reúnen y marchan hacia un pelea callejera inspirado en la película West Side Story, en un almacén. En todo momento, Jackson aparece como una figura solitaria, bailando por todo el restaurante, y finalmente llega al almacén justo cuando los líderes de las pandillas están enzarzados en una pelea con cuchillos. El elenco comienza a bailar.
Además, algunos de los bailarines con menos experiencia dan pasos en el fondo detrás de Jackson. Muchos de los participantes en las secuencias de baile del video eran miembros reales de pandillas callejeras, traídos para autenticar la apariencia de la pieza. "Weird Al" Yankovic parodió el video de su video " Eat It " y el de Phil Collins "Don't Lose My Number" parodia el video.
