Medalla Davy. Medalla que se concede por importantes descubrimientos en química.
Sumario
Objetivo
La Medalla de Davy se concede anualmente a un reciente descubrimiento extraordinariamente importante en cualquier rama de la química", por la Real Sociedad de Londres.
Historia
Originalmente se estipuló que el descubrimiento debía haber sido hecho en Europa o América del Norte, pero esta restricción ha sido eliminada. La medalla lleva el nombre de Humphry Davy, químico británico del siglo XIX y se entregó por primera vez en 1877.
Características
La medalla es de bronce y se acompaña de un regalo de 1.000 libras esterlinas.
